Der BalkonThe balcony

Ich wohne in Berlin, am Stadtrand, und habe einen Balkon mit richtig schöner Rundum-Aussicht und ziemlich viel freier Fläche. Wenn ich nach Süden schaue, liegt der Himmelssüden genau in der Mitte des Balkons.

I live in Berlin, on the edge of town, with a balcony that has a lovely all-round view and plenty of open space. When I look south, the celestial south sits right in the middle of the balcony.

Durch die Höhe des Balkons komme ich knapp über Bäume und Häuser, es stehen hier fast nur Einfamilienhäuser.

Thanks to the height of the balcony I clear the trees and houses, there are mostly single-family homes around here.

Der LichtfängerThe light catcher

Gegen das Streulicht habe ich mir selbst etwas gebaut. Es ist keine Taukappe, sondern ein Aufbau rund um den Balkon, der das Streulicht weitgehend abhält. Man könnte es ein kleines Balkonobservatorium nennen. Details folgen.

Against stray light I built something myself. It is not a dew shield but a structure around the balcony that blocks most of the stray light. You could call it a small balcony observatory. Details to follow.
